About the Association

Mathematics Association is the students’ forum that organizes guest lectures, conferences, workshops, and Industrial visit which focusses on the advancement of Knowledge. It significantly enhances opportunities and options for shaping their future. Mathematical competence opens doors to productive futures.

Activities

Department of Mathematics organized a Faculty Development Program on “Modular forms and some applications I,II,Group Actions I, Multivariate Calculus I,II, Canonical forms and characterization of the equivalence relation on L(V,V), An Introduction to Module Theory” on 28.09.18 and 29.09.18
Department of Mathematics organized a hands on training workshop on “Maple” on 24.09.2018.
Department of Mathematics organized a Hands on Training on Scilab on 14.09.2018.
Department of Mathematics organized a guest lecture on “Modelling with Algebra” on 14.09.2018.
Department of Mathematics organized a Inter Department Competition on “Digital Designing” on 04.09.2018.
Department of Mathematics organized a workshop on “Data Visualization and Tableau” on 27.08.2018.
Department of Mathematics organized a guest lecture on “Multiple Intelligence in Learning Mathematics” on 03.08.2018.
Department of Mathematics organized a Faculty Development Program on “R-Programming” under DBT Star Status and Star College Scheme on 16.02.2018.
A Guest Lecture on “Mathematical Modelling” was organized by the Department of Mathematics under DBT Star Status & Star College Scheme on 07.02.2018.
Department of Mathematics organized a workshop on “GNU Fisica Lab” on 06.02.2018.
Department of Mathematics organized a Guest Lecture on “Operations Research” on 06.02.2018.

Achievements

National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) Coimbatore organized a quiz competition to celebrate the “Statistical Day” on 29.06.2015 at Tamilnadu Agricultural University Coimbatore. II and III year Mathematics students participated and won the prizes.

Ms.S.Sowmiya , MS.N.Revathi, Ms.T.Nandhini Priya won Third prize ,Ms. A.Sukinandhini, J.B.Varshini , G.Deepa won the fifth prize .

About the Association

The Mathematics students forum organizes programmes, activities, community oriented programmes, guest lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences for the undergraduate and post graduate mathematics community at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women. The forum also conducts mathematics Quiz programme for UG and PG level. The aim of this forum is to promote the disciplines of Mathematics and motivate the students to thrive in Mathematics.

Activities

- Our students did the following activities as a part of community oriented programme from 02.02.2015 to 15.02.2015.The activities are
  - Data collection-Ministry of Statistics, NSSO office, Coimbatore
  - Teaching mathematics to corporation school students. \
  - Preparing study materials for visually impaired students through NGO, Cherran region Christian Society, Coimbatore.
- Guest Lecture on Mathematics and Logics was conducted on July 09.07.2015

Achievements

- - Mrs. R.Lakshmi, Assistant Professor & Head , Department of Mathematics(PG) won the best faculty award for the year 2014-2015
  - Mrs. M.Deepa, M.Phil Scholar secured first rank in her M.Phil examination conducted by Bharathiar University.
