Humanities Association

The Humanities Association inculcates the values of Nationalism and Patriotism in the minds of the youth. Since they are builders of our nation we train them for various competitive examinations through UPSC/ TNPSC and other group exams.

Activities

On 11 July 2016, the Humanities Association of our College was inaugurated by Dr.Ilango, Professor& Retired Principal, Government Arts College, Coimbatore and he delivered a lecture on “Sources of Ancient Indian Historical writing for the U.G, P.G , M.Phil.,& Ph.D students of History
On 26 July 2016, a guest lecture on the topic “Subjectivity vs. Objectivity” was delivered by Dr.Parvatham Retired Professor, Nirmala College for women, Coimbatore.
In commemoration of the 70^th Independence Day celebration, quiz on the topic “India’s struggle for independence and Skit on ‘Jallianwallabagh Massacre’ was performed on 17.8.16 and 19.8.16 respectively.
On 29.12.16, a guest lecture on the topic “Recent trends in Modern Historiography” was delivered by Dr.N.Balasubramaniam Prof& Head (Retired) C.B.M College, Coimbatore.
One day state level workshop was organised on the topic “Philosophy as propounded by Indians” on 21.02 2017.
On 09.03.2017, a guest lecture on the topic “Values of History” was delivered by Dr.M.Senthurpandian, Associate Prof, Govt Arts College, Coimbatore.
Department of History organized a Guest Lecture on “Record Management” on 01.02.2018.
Department of History organized an “Adjunct Lecture” on the topics related to Herostone, Epigraphy, Temple architecture and Mahatma Gandhi on 13.02.2018 to 16.02.2018.
Department of History conducted a guest lecture on 16/08/2018 on the Topic ” Research Methods in Historical Research ” and guidance to innovative research proposals to staff members.
Department of History & Gandhian Study Centre jointly organized the 75^th Independence Day celebration through virtual mode on 18 August 2021.
