About the Programme
The programme since its inception in 1963, is striving to be a centre of excellence in mathematics and computing. The department is actively engaged in research, teaching and training. Being recognized under DBT Star Scheme and DBT Star status, the department has undertaken research projects, conferences, lecture workshops in collaboration with science academies of India, NBHM, DST, UGC and other funding agencies by receiving grants to the tune of Rs. 150 Lakhs. Our department is offering consultancy services in Statistical Analysis, Numerical Computations, Mathematical Modeling and Simulations. The programme provides the fundamental principles of mathematics integrated with open source softwares which enhance the various skills and employability of the students. The curriculum includes Hands on Trainings, inter disciplinary group projects and field works.
