Activities

Association activities of the Department of Physics are an integral part of a curriculum, which provides educational activities to the students and thereby helps in broadening their experience. Interdisciplinary activities are designed to enhance and enrich the regular curriculum during the normal college hours. Jayasudha C B of II B.Sc Physics has secured First Place in Quiz in the State Level Physics Symposium held at Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science on 17^th February 2017
Shwetha R of III B.Sc Physics underwent project training from May to June 2016, at the Nuclear Physics Division, BARC, Mumbai.
Lakshmi A & Monisha M of III B.Sc Physics has attended the Summer Course in Experimental Physics (SCEP) – 2016, at Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, TIFR, Mumbai from May 9 – 20, 2016.

Guest Lecture,Workshop & Seminars

Department of Physics organized a Video Conference on 08.02.2018. G. Bharath, Department of Chemical Engineering, Khalifa University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi, UAE delivered a Video lecture for PG students on the topic “Advanced Semiconducting Nanostructures for Photo and Electrochemical Water splitting towards Hydrogen production from Water”.
Physics club organized a guest lecture on 09.02.2018. Dr Dennyson Savariraj, Department of Materials Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Concepcion, Chile delivered a lecture on “Recent developments and challenges in solar cell research”.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, IIST, Trivandrum delivered a guest lecture on holography to synthesis correlation structure of light on 10th March, 2017.
Dr. R. Amuda, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, PSG College of Technology delivered a guest lecture on “Non linear Dynamics” on 22nd February, 2017.
Dr. Sa. K. Narayandass, Former Professor and Head, Department of Physics, Bharathiar University delivered an Inspirational talk on “Noble Laureates in Physics and Noble Facts” on 20th February, 2017.
Mr. Saravanakumar from Coimbatore Academy delivered a guest lecture on “Advantages of GATE and other UPSC examinations” on 8th February, 2017.
Mr. Rajkumar from Sinetec Industries delivered a guest lecture on “Awareness in handling Scientific Instruments” followed by demonstration on 24th January, 2017.
Mr. Sivarajakumar Maharajan, Research Fellow, University of Fribourg gave a lecture on “Evolution of renewable energy storage devices and scientific contributions” through Video conferencing on 23rd December, 2016.
Dr. S. Naina Mohammed, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Udumalpet Govt Arts and Science College, delivered a lecture on “Problem Solving in Mathematical physics and Quantum Mechanics” on 22nd September, 2016.
Dr. C. S. Sureka, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Physics, Bharathiar University delivered a lecture on “Few facts about Ionising Radiation” on 8th September, 2016.
Dr. Y. L. Jeyachandran, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Bharathiar University inaugurated the Physics Club activities for the Year 2016-17 and delivered a Guest Lecture on “X ray of liquid Water” on 8th July, 2016.
The Department of Physics organized Science Academies’ Lecture Workshop on Mathematical Physics from 22nd to 24th June, 2016.
