M.Sc. (Fashion and Apparel Design)

  • The program integrates the core principles of apparel designing and production focusing on digital illustration, drafting, construction, draping, computer aided designing (CAD), textile testing, retail management, technical textiles, sustainable production, global marketing in the field of textile and apparel manufacturing. NSDC Certification in 2 NSQF Levels 6 & 7 with job roles as Sourcing manager and Online sample designer.

  • The department have well established Basic garment construction lab, Advanced garment construction lab, Fashion illustration lab, Draping lab, Textile testing lab, Wet processing lab, class rooms with smart techniques for effective learning, Computer labs with advanced software technology equipped with relevant software for CAD and Digital illustration, state of art research facilities and Centre of Excellence for Apparel Made-ups and Home Furnishing that provides vibrant research ecosystem.

  • Curriculum Curriculam The program integrates the CBCS and OBE model curiculum, emphasizing handson training, skill development, industrial exposure, and experiential learning. It also offers support for placement and entrepreneur development, as well as opportunities for research, publications, and patents in the field of fashion and apparel design.
  • Industry professionals are involved in curriculum design, industrial visits, placement, entrepreneurship development programs, faculty development programs, and business startups. Industry experts are also invited to serve as guest speakers for lectures, seminars, workshops, and as judges for fashion shows and other events.

      • Community College in Garment Designing was introduced under the University Grants Commission (UGC)’s scheme of skill based education in the year 2014. Two courses offered under this programme namely Diploma in Garment Designing and Advanced Diploma in Garment Designing. The syllabus of the course is designed in such a way that it provides the skill required by students to be a successful entrepreneur.
