The institution takes pride and pleasure in publishing peer-reviewed, registered biannual journal‘Advances in Applied Research’ since June 2009, bearing the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) 0974 – 3839 (Print ISSN) and 2349 – 2104 (Online ISSN) for the fifteenth year in succession. The National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) rating for our journal is 3.21. The journal is also recognized by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST).
The principal aim of the journal is to strengthen research by disseminating the original results in the form of full length articles, short communications, technical articles and review articles in all areas of Material Sciences and Agricultural Sciences.
We have a team of committed members on the Editorial and Advisory Board and a panel of experts from India and abroad as reviewers. This panel is being updated frequently. The expert panel ensures the quality of our journal on par with international standards. All the articles in the journal are peer reviewed. All the manuscripts are evaluated on the basis of their scientific content. High publication standards are followed to prevent malpractices such as fabricated data, plagiarisms and redundant (duplicate) publication. The journal considers only original, unpublished manuscripts which are not considered for publication in any other journal.
Duties / responsibilities of Editors
The decision of publishing a particular article in an issue rests with the editorial team of the journal comprising the editorial board. The rejection / acceptance of the article are at the complete discretion of the editors and may also be in consultation with other reviewers. The evaluations of the manuscripts are based on the research and scientific content. The editors are to ensure that there is no conflict of interest with regard to the accepted / rejected articles. The editors are to ensure the strict confidentiality about the manuscript and should communicate only to the corresponding author and the reviewer.
Duties / responsibilities of Reviewers
The contents of the manuscript should be kept confidential by the reviewer. The views of the review should have clarity with supporting reasons, and be objective. The reviewer should not have any conflict of interest with the authors or the research content in the manuscript. Any similarity or overlap found by the reviewer between the article under review and any other published article shall also be brought to the editor’s notice. The ideas and knowledge obtained from the reviewed manuscript should be kept confidential and not be used for any personal benefit. Reviewer should not review the manuscript of the authors / institution to which they are related to.
Duties / responsibilities of the Authors
The manuscript submitted by the authors should be original research work with its significance appropriately discussed and with details of updated literature and references. All persons designated as authors should qualify for authorship. Authorship credit should be based on significant contribution to the research work. The works of others used in the manuscript should be appropriately cited or quoted / acknowledged. The authors should ensure that the articles are contributed solely to Advances in Applied Research, that they have not been published previously in print and not under consideration by another publication. The author should follow the applicable copy rights law. The corresponding author must ensure that the final version of the paper have been approved by all the co-authors and should submit a duly signed concurrence letter from all the co-authors that they have agreed to the submission of the paper for publication. Any source of financial support received for the research work in the manuscript should be disclosed / acknowledged. The author has to promptly notify any significant error in the published paper for the retraction or correction of the paper by the editors.
Peer Review Statement
The published articles in the journal have been subjected to editorial screening followed by a rigorous double blind peer review processes to maintain the quality of research work and to purge malpractices such as plagiarism.
Paper Publication Process
● Submission of research article by the author. ● Initial screening by the Editor and onward transmission to the reviewers. ● Review of manuscript by the reviewer as per the guidelines and score assignment in the score sheet. ● Reviewers comments and the score sheet with the final word (Reject / Revise / Accept) returned to the editor. ● Reviewer’s comments / suggestions and editor’s decision sent to the author. ● Revision of manuscript by the author and submission to the editor. ● Editorial correction of the revised manuscript carried out and the updated article sent to the publication department.
Peer Review Policy
The primary objective of the journal being strengthening research by disseminating the original results as research articles, the review of the manuscript has been carried out by committed reviewers who play a major role in ensuring the quality of the journal.
Peer Review Process
(i) Initial manuscript evaluation All the submitted manuscripts were first evaluated by the Editors. The manuscripts that were not original, with serious scientific errors and outside the scope of the journal were rejected. The manuscripts that met the minimum criteria were assigned for the review process. The authors of the rejected manuscripts were intimated within two weeks of the receipt of the same. (ii) Evaluation by reviewers Double blind peer review process has been followed, where the reviewer and author identities have been concealed from the author and vice versa. The manuscript and the score sheet were sent for evaluation to the reviewers selected from the database, matching the subject area / research area of the manuscript. The reviewer’s evaluations and the final decision were made in the score sheet which had two sections viz., the reviewer’s general comments and the scores assigned based on the originality, technical quality, significance, presentation, relevance and overall rating of the manuscript. The scores were kept confidential and only the reviewer’s general comments shall be sent to the author. (iii)Duration of peer review process Manuscripts will be reviewed within 2 to 8 weeks. When reviewers’ reports contradict one another or a delay in the review report, a third expert’s opinion shall be sought. (iv) Final report The editor’s final decision of acceptance / rejection of a paper shall be sent to the author along with the comments, recommendation / suggestion of the reviewers.
