The department was established in 1968 and has blossomed into a full fledged research department. “A Nation is built in the educational institutions”: keeping this motto in view, the Department of History has marched towards progress since its inception. During the course of 47 years there have been a number of exemplary achievements. The PG Department and Research department was established in 1980 and in 1983 respectively. The unique feature of the department is that the syllabus is framed to equip the students to appear for competitive examinations. Values are instilled through Gandhian Studies Centre, and students are sensitised about their rights and women empowerment by the Dr.Ambedkar Studies Centre. The Add on Course in Tourism & Travel Management helps in the professional development of the students.
