About the Association

The Mathematics students forum organizes programmes, activities, community oriented programmes, guest lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences for the undergraduate and post graduate mathematics community at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women. The forum also conducts mathematics Quiz programme for UG and PG level. The aim of this forum is to promote the disciplines of Mathematics and motivate the students to excel in Mathematics.

Events & Activities

Department of Mathematics (PG & UG – SF) organized a one day workshop on “Data Visualization” on 27.08.2018.
Department of Mathematics (PG & UG – SF) organized an Adjunct Faculty Lecture on “Abstract Algebra” on 18.08.2018.
Department of Mathematics(PG) organized a “Summer Training Program in Higher Mathematics ” on 04.06.2018 – 09.06.2018.
A Guest Lecture was organized on “Introduction to Control theory” on 22.02.2017
A Guest Lecture was organized on “Applications of Graph Theory” on 14.02.2017
A Guest Lecture was organized on “Mathematical modelling in Fluid dynamics” on 11.1.2017
As a part of outreach programme all the students of II M.Sc Mathematics actively involved and has taken classes (Grade V to VIII ) from 02.02.2017 – 17.02.2017 in two schools.

Guest Lecture on Mathematics and Logics was conducted on July 09.07.2015
Our students were involved in the community oriented programme from 02.02.2015 to 15.02.2015.The activities are
- Data collection-Ministry of Statistics, NSSO office, Coimbatore
- Teaching mathematics to corporation school students.
- Preparing study materials for visually impaired students through NGO, Cherran Region Christian Society, Coimbatore.

Research Activities

Faculty members are pursuing PhD in different areas like Fluid Dynamics, Topology and Graph theory.
Faculty have presented papers in national and International Conferences
Faculty members have published papers in the reputed journals
