The Association inculcates interest towards Hindi Language and Literature in the students through various activities like competitions, Guest Lectures, Seminars etc.,

Achievements

Dr. V. Padmavathy presented a key note address on the National Seminar organized by Kerala University College, Palayam on 29.11.2016. She also chaired one session in the International Conference organized by Annamalai University on 25.2.2017
4 papers at the National Level Seminar and 2 papers at the international conferences have been presented by the Staff-members during the year 2016-17
Dr. V. Padmavathy, HOD (Hindi) has received the “ Babulal Goenka Anudith Sahitya Puraskar-2017” by Kamala Goenka Foundation on 17.12.2016
Various Competitions are conducted to encourage the use of Hindi among the students.

Activities

A workshop in translation was conducted in association with Centre for women’s studies and Agal Foundation on 07.02.2018 at Conference Hall.
Mr. Shri Sai Ganesh, Chartered Accountant addressed the students on the topic “Be a responsible tax-payer on 19.02.2018.
The Department of Hindi has been associated with General Library to initiate the “Readers’ Forum: Gnana Sangamam” which was inaugurated by eminent Kongu writer and Professor in Tamil, Shri Suryakanthan ( Marudachalam) on 31.07.2017. The student – members were asked to present 1 oral book-review and 4 written book-reviews. A debate on the topic “E-book: A boon or bane” was conducted for the students.
“GUNJAN”, a handwritten magazine was released on 1.3.2018 on the occasion of the Valedictory function of “KANTHI” Hindi association and a Guest lecture was given by the chief guest Mr. Santosh Kumar Pandey, Editor, Rajasthan Patrika, Coimbatore.
Various competitions like Essay writing, elocution and singing were held for the Hindi students on 12.09.2017 conducted by Hindi association”KANTHI”.
A workshop on “Contemporary trends in Hindi and Tamil Literature” was held on 16.8.2017
The Inauguration and Guest lecture of Hindi Association “KANTHI” was held on 20.07.2017.
